Market Painting

This painting I did at the Fayetteville Farmer's Market a few years ago needed a few touch-ups.
It got them this week. I think it is one of my best.

The March of Souls

Bridge (In more ways than one)

For the past year my energy was focused on sustaining an organization (loosely interpreted) that served my friends and me as an excellent gallery and meeting space: the Fayetteville Underground. By the first week of march this year it was clear to me that it was time to move on. To the Underground and all the artists, volunteers and associates, I wish you well. To my friends and patrons, I expect to have a viable place very soon to receive you and exhibit my work.
As you probably know, my home studio at 219 W. South St. in Fayetteville is where I work, and as soon as I have re-claimed it sufficiently, I expect to have an open house. I look forward to seeing you all there.
Until then, I will be updating my images and art-related information here on the blog.

2015

I have to say I've been distracted from regular production of paintings for a while, but the Friday Morning Painting Group that meets at Fayetteville Underground has been a sustaining factor for me. The painting below was done a few weeks ago.

Enigma I

Classes have been going well. Two are finishing in a week or two. I'm planning to do another 4 weeks of sessions beginning in late May. Plein Air season is almost upon us, and I would like to make the most of it. Also, I miss drawing. Quick Draw on Saturdays will begin at the Underground when the Farmer's Market starts up again.

On Location at Crystal Bridges Museum

Painting as performance!
In May I was contracted to perform a painting at Eleven Restaurant in Crystal Bridges for a Wedding Party Reception and Dinner which lasted a total of 6 hours. I painted the whole time and produced a finished 16x20 painting of the head table and guests. The bride and groom are visible alongside the cake at the very far end of the table.

Portrait Group

On Fridays, a group of local artists gather at Fayetteville Underground to pursue their passion for painting. I'm fortunate to be associated with the group and happy to share a couple of my recent paintings done on Friday mornings.
