Year of Transition

This has been a year of transition for me. I worked on my studio and on a sculpture for the first half. But more significant is the upcoming book I've been writing. The myth about the all-consuming nature of writing is not unfounded. My novel is nearly finished and I'm already thinking about the next.
In addition, I've completed several paintings in the last two weeks. It is reassuring to know I have not forgotten how to paint. It seemed like a good idea to practice for the upcoming event where I will be joining my friend, Ingrid Gipson in her Big Cedar, Oklahoma studio. On November 3rd, Ingrid will be celebrating the unveiling of her most recent sculpture and invited me to do a painting demonstration that afternoon from 1 - 5pm. It's going to be fun, rain or shine.

K-M Glass Feature

Four Seasons - K-M Glass

OPEN HOUSE
Veteran stained-glass artists Roberta Katz and Steve Messenger gladly
announce the 2017 Winter Open House at K-M Glass Studio in Clinton,
Arkansas on December 8,9 & 10, and welcome all to attend.

The Messengers’ iconic masterworks grace churches and homes all over
Central Arkansas. Their decades of dedication to quality in design and
construction have produced an astounding body of work and gained for them
universal respect and admiration. For the 2017 Open House they have
created an assortment fused ornaments, suncatchers, stained glass panels,
lamps and intimate scenes as well as larger decorative panels.

Kent Landrum, a.k.a. MM Kent, has won national prizes for his oil
paintings on both coasts and exhibited work in fourteen states. Over a
thirty-year career, he has mastered an impressionist style all his own.
Images of the lakes, rivers, bridges and farmer’s markets from 9x12
inches, to 24x36 inches will be on exhibit alongside the Messenger’s glass
artwork at the three-day Open House.

The artists will be on hand, refreshments will be served, and holiday
cheer shared by all.

In Eureka Springs with friend Octavio Logo and my wife, Anne.

Fenix Fayetteville will open a new show on July 1 at the Walker Stone House, downtown on Cernter St. I know because I will be helping to hang it. All the usual suspects with one unfortunate exception and several new faces and opii.

To be added to the mailing list, go to  http://eepurl.com/cRTNGg

If you are wondering, I have not stopped painting. Here's the evidence:

This painting entitled 'Onyx' received a purchase prize at the Eureka Springs Plein Air Fest in May.
Octavio and Anne came to watch me work.
